Perspective distortion is a primary tool of photographers like depth of field and like bokeh, and once you learn to see it, it will forever change how you see photos and possibly how you take photos. Unlike things like DOF or color balance that are a fiction of the syntax of photographic systems, perspective distortion is something present in the real world. Using the photographic system we can make it easier to see and that can let us use it to make photos more interesting.
