Ricoh WG-30w Review

What's in the Box & Warranty

With the exception of a memory card, the WG-30w comes with everything you need to get started with the camera.  Here's what you'll find in the box:

  • WG-30w Camera
  • Li-Ion Battery (D-LI92)
  • Power Adapter (D-PA135J, region-specific)
  • USB Cable (I-USB157)
  • Wrist Strap (O-ST104)
  • Macro Stand (O-MS2)
  • Quick Start Guide (region-specific)
  • Multilingual Supplemental Information Pamphlet
  • Warranty Info / Serial Number Card (region-specific)

The supplied USB cable allows you to transfer photos to your computer and doubles as a power cord when plugged in to the adapter, which has a USB output.

The full manual for this camera is not included in the box.  The quick start guide provides an overview of key features, but is not comprehensive as it skips over features such as the built-in Wi-Fi (ironically one of the camera's key selling points).  At the time we wrote this review, it was only available for download from the Ricoh Imaging UK site, rather than the URL indicated in the paperwork.  We are therefore providing a direct link: click here to download the WG-30w manual.

Warranty

Ricoh Imaging's warranty coverage depends on the country in which you purchase your Pentax or Ricoh camera.  International warranties are no longer offered in any region due to legal and practical complications.

  • In the US, the standard warranty is good for one year.  2 additional years can be purchased for just $19.95* within 30 days of your camera purchase.  Product registration is not necessary for warranty coverage.
  • In Canada and Europe, two years of coverage are included.
  • In Australia, the warranty is good for one year, like in the US.

Please check with your local Ricoh Imaging dealer or representative for warranty information in other areas.  Note that warranty service will only be honored for cameras purchased from authorized Pentax dealers.

*this extended warranty is valid even if you originally purchased the Q-S1 from a different US authorized dealer.  The only requirement is that you keep your receipts, and that the warranty card is purchased within 30 days of the camera body.  No registration is necessary.  If you meet all these requirements, then click here to order you extended warranty.  It is not an issue if you take delivery of the warranty card outside of the 30-day window, as long as it the order was received and processed within that window.
