Samyang 10mm F2.8 ED AS NCS CS

What's in the Box

The Samyang 10mm F2.8 ED AS NCS CS comes in an elegant box featuring the lens name and multiple photos of the lens.  On one side of the box you'll find a table with its key specifications.

After opening the box, you'll find a felt cloth lens pouch, manual, warranty information, and a quality control card.

Below all the paperwork, you'll find the lens packed in a thin plastic form.

After taking everything out of the box, here is what you'll have:

  • The Samyang 10mm F2.8 lens itself
  • A dedicated plastic lens cap
  • A rear mount cap
  • Paperwork (manual, warranty information)
  • Lens pouch

We don't care much for the pouch, which is made of a thin, cheap porous material.  If you want better protection against moisture, dust, and physical damage, we recommend buying a higher-quality padded case for the lens.

The lens cap completely covers the front element and the hood.  It is very easy to remove and replace, but even when secured onto the lens, there is a slight wobble.  Despite this, the hood cannot be pulled off by force except when the clips are pinched because the clips lock underneath the edge of the lens hood.

Warranty

In the US, Samyang provides a 1-year limited warranty through a third party; this is comparable to the warranty period offered by Pentax USA for genuine lenses.

Competing manufacturers offer longer warranty periods: Sigma gives customers 4 years for each new lens, while Tamron provides up to 6.

Warranty duration and coverage may differ in other markets.
