Think Tank Signature 13 Review

Introduction

There has been a trend in recent years to take the trusty messenger bag and bring it to another level. By using more a classic appearance, higher quality materials and by improving the design to make it more functional, the messenger bag has evolved. Spearheaded by a few young companies who want to challenge the statu quo, this movement has led most bag manufacturers to offer, with varying levels of success, higher-end messenger bags where leather, metal and elegant fabrics replace nylon and plastic.

Think Tank is one such manufacturer. The company’s Retrospective line of camera bags has been popular for many years. The Retrospective bags constantly come up when discussing messenger bag options in our forums. That didn’t stop Think Tank from continuing to improve and rethink their messenger bags.

Released during the winter of 2017, the Signature bags are fine examples of this. Dubbed “everyday bags” by the company (a label reminiscent of another company’s branding…), the Signature 10 and 13 mix modern materials with a classical look and elegant accents. Weather resistant and capable to carry a small computer or tablet in addition to personal items and photo equipment, these bags strive to be the “modernized version of the classic shoulder bag”.

Today we take a look at the larger Signature 13 bag. Available in slate gray or olive coloring, this premium bag wants to marry good looks with functionality. How well does it perform? Read our review to find out!
