| The pictures apparently show a medical version with a matching white circular hood. I am guessing this hood adds about an inch plus to the unextended length of the lens. A friend owns a white Elicar 90 MM 1 to 1.25 without a hood with a Nikon mount. Some reviews of the Elicar, Panagor, Soligor, Rokunar, Spiratone and Vivitar 90 mm 1 to 1 versions is that they are subject to some flare. Possibly this hood was produced to aleviate some of that. Pros: | Sharp, 1.25:1 magnification without adaptator | Cons: | | | This is the only lens I know about which is able of to have a magnification over 1:1 without any adaptor.
Really sharp for portrait with a pretty nice bokeh. Plus the 2.5 aperture makes it really fast !
The macro mode is really great, it allows to have amazing details but is quite hard to master as any small move is amplified, a lot.
Completely made of steel this lens is really comfortable to use. The one and a quarter turns to focus from infinity to 0,26m makes it really easy to focus.
Since I have it (quite long actually) I didn't find any cons to this lens | |
