Pros: Sharp at F2.8, compact body
Cons: only 5 aperture blades, has Fujinon aperture tab

This is my go to for 35mm focal length. My copy of the lens is the mid version with the dimpled focus ring. The lens is sharp wide open. Colors are very vivid. I really like this lens, but it does have some cons. The main con for me is that it only has 5 aperture blades. The second is that it has the Fujinon specific aperture tab that makes it difficult to adapter. It can be cut off, but I didn't want to damage the lens, so I bought a expensive adapter that has a cutout for the tab.

Pros: Sharp at all apertures that I tested, good neutral color rendition, usability on APSC
Cons: Price, I paid too much methinks
Sharpness: 9    Aberrations: 9    Bokeh: 8    Handling: 9    Value: 7    Camera Used: Fuji X-H1

Fujica EBC 35mm F2.8. I finally received this the other day and took it out for a spin today on the X-H1. Came with a lens hood and the original lens case. Nice.
Synopsis of the lens is this. Can produce some nice bokeh, color rendering is nice, neutral, not too saturated SOOC. Good contrast and very sharp at the apertures I shot with. Good detail rendering. Paid $100 US, better price than many 35mm I have seen (why are these 35mm lenses so expensive anyway?)
Now the bitch, when I mount this on my lens Turbo, the aperture ring seats right up against the adapter so it will not turn. I made a washer to give it some clearance but then the aperture settings sit 90 degrees from where they should be. Works better on the dumb K&F adapter as it has a raised edge around the lens mount thread (M42) so allows the lens to sit correctly on the camera and the aperture ring to turn properly.
So anyways, here are a few unexciting shots from today but shows attributes I was talking about earlier. RAW files with minor adjustments (Exposure, clarity, contrast)
Might just become my new fave walk around lens.

Pros: sharpness, color, handling, price?
Cons: rare
Sharpness: 9    Aberrations: 9    Bokeh: 8    Handling: 9    Value: 9    Camera Used: XE2, A7, ME Super

i have two model mount, i.e; X-Fujinon old bayonet and M42, both are identical of optic design
the lens has excellent sharpness on apsc, especially through xtrans sensor which is as 'soul mate' for any EBC Fujinon technology

Bonjour,

Yet another thrift store find acquired for a song. I had to grind down a small flange at the base of the lens so that it would seat correctly upon the K-5 (Dremel tool used here).

Seems like an average quality lens from my few indoor tests and I am awaiting the warmer weather to test further outside. For the moment, a rating for "7" will suffice.

Allez et bonjour courage, John le Frog
