Pros: Metallic construction, nice color rendition
Cons: No A/M switch
Sharpness: 8    Aberrations: 7    Bokeh: 9    Handling: 8    Value: 9    Camera Used: Fujica ST-701, Spotmatic - Pentax K5iis

This was the standard lens in Fujicas in the mid 70s.
I have the 1st version of it (silver aperture ring and no EBC coating), which came with a Fujica ST701 and was easy to use in the spotmatic (no tab).
It is a decent all around performer as a normal lens. It was good in the film cameras, but in the DSLR it has to be modified to push the aperture PIN.
Images have a nice color rendition, albeit not being as sharp as the Takumar 55/1.8, but sometime a softer look is preferred.

Construction is solid, but over the years the focus helicoid has become stiffer.

The version I have weights 206g, takes 49mm filters and has 6 diaphragm blades
Distance scale is green in ft and white. IR mark to the left of 4

Pros: Good build quality, wonderful bokeh on full frame
Cons: Not so sharp wide open
Sharpness: 7    Aberrations: 8    Bokeh: 9    Handling: 10    Value: 8    Camera Used: A7, Fuji

The lens feels great in the hand but you should remove the mount tab so that it will screw well.

Bokeh is wonderful and vibrant on full frame, truly great for an ordinary f/1,8 lens. However, it doesn't look so special on an APS-C body.

Sharpness is average at f/1,8, a tad bit soft and lacks contrast. My sample is not perfect but quite clean, only a bit of dust. It improves when stopped down but infinity focus can be critical.

It's an interesting lens on full frame for it's bokeh, and an average one on APS-C.

Pros: Great colors and great bokeh!
Cons: nothing really
Sharpness: 8    Aberrations: 9    Bokeh: 10    Handling: 9    Value: 10    Camera Used: Sony A7

Here's some Jpegs from my Sony A7, all shot at 1.8

The bokeh is incredible! I have 1.4 and 1.2 lenses and this one is just as good!

Pros: Great colors, sharp wide open, great rendering
Cons: has to be modified
Sharpness: 9    Aberrations: 9    Bokeh: 9    Handling: 9    Value: 10

Standard lens for Fujinon with EBC (Electron Beam Coating). (error in the specs above, close focus is 45cm, not 1m)

But 1 problem:

There is a tab on the aperture ring on the body side that prevents mounting the lens to a non Fujica body. You must file it off. The aperture pin on the back should be disabled to make the lens function in Manual mode. (push it in with a tooth pick until it does not want to come out anymore, you effectively broke the auto aperture mechanism). I did some test shots with the lens made and must say it is a hassle free lens. Build quality is OK (but no Takumar). Colors are good, contrast also. Bokeh is pleasant and problematic behaviour is absent. Sharp at 1.8 and purple fringing only under very extreme conditions, which in practice you will not meet soon. (sunlight through the holes of black blinds).

Pros: To be determined
Cons: To be found - Hopefully non
Sharpness: 10    Aberrations: 10    Bokeh: 10    Handling: 10    Value: 10

I just got the two copies of this lens, one with the EBC (coating) and the other one without it. I will post pictures later. I have not used the lens because they have a key or protuberance below the aperture ring that someone recommended to remove with a Dremmel. Otherwise, it could not make proper contact or focusing. I just wanted to reserve the honor of being the first reviewer of this lens. I will start with 10/10 and once I try it, we will go from there.
