| | There are such as the Revuenon's different kind of production lines of this lens by HANIMEX.
The shortest lens and the MC line are the best ones, because of the better 5/4-elements construction
++ very high sharpness
+/++ high contrast
++ neutral color rendition
+/++ some very few CA's in the corners
+++ excellent macro pictures with macro ring
+++ very low price
9,5 points and full recommendation !!!

| | Found this lens at a thrift store for $4.99. There was also a 35mm f2.8 Hanimex for $4.99 that I picked up. The mount is M42, with an automatic aperture pin. I use an M42 to Pentax K adapter that has a flange to keep the pin from interfering with mounting the lens.
The lens looks older than the one at the top of this listing. All metal and glass construction, no green line, the aperture ring is metal with no rubber grip, the focusing grip is a different pattern and at the middle of the lens rather than the front.
Most shooting so far has been close ups work with extension tubes. As I have used it this lens has performed very well. The colors and contrast are great. It is sharp at the apertures I have used it at (5.6 to 22).
Considering the price, and the images it gives me, it is a great value.

I'll try to make some images of it soon and post them here.

Pros: | none | Cons: | Cheaply built, Poor quality | | I bought a version of this lens in the late 1980's. The reason to buy it at the time was it was cheap. The price reflected the quality. about one and a half after having it, it feel apart. I bought the Pentax 100mm f2.8 lens and that was far better quality . If you see one of these Hanimex lens, just pass on it for something that is better!! | |

| I've done some good gig portraits with this lens. It's sharp enough for me. Build is plasticy, but solid. It's fast for use in low light. Contrast can be a bit poor when you see it on the digital histogram.
The only reason I wouldn't recommend is because I think the Pentax M135/3.5 is slightly better and is readily available for next to nothing.
