Pros: none
Cons: soft, lack of contrast, wide open darker than 4.5
Sharpness: 3    Handling: 4    Value: 2    Camera Used: Canon AE-1

I owned this lens in the early eighties and it was the worst lens I ever owned. It is definitely not worth the money, even if you paid only 1$. The images lacked in all terms of quality. And in comparison with my Vivitar 135 f:2.8 I measured out that wide open the aperture was not 4.5 but more about 5.6. I tried to get get rid off as soon as possible.

Cons: lack of sharpness

Mine is actually an Auto Makinon MC Zoom 1:4.5 f=80-200mm with 55mm front filter, serial starts with 81#####
Goes to 1:4 Macro at 200mm
Same specs as and looks very similar to the Image one listed, so I'm including my review here.
Lens is very solidly built, and I always like built-in lens hoods.
Handles ok, but f stops go from 4.5 > 8 > 11 > 16 > 22 with no stops in between.
Quite soft at f4.5 but even stopping down never sharpens enough to bring it into close comparison with other zooms I have in this range. (Tokina SZ-X 80-200 f4.5-5.6; Vivitar 75-205mm 1:3.8 MC Macro Zoom Lens)

Pros: Cheap, easy to use
Cons: Soft, Purple fringing and Chromatic aberration wide open in macro mode

I bought this lens in pawn shop for $45, it was like new, without any scraches and chips. I think it is worth the money I paid but not more. It is pretty soft wide open and at 200mm. When focused on distant subject IQ is pretty bad but in macro mode makes some decent pictures but nothing really special. Purple fringing and Chromatic aberration wide open in macro mode. Aperture ring goes from F4.5 to F8, missing F5.6.
