Pros: | Nice portrait effect, center focus quite sharp, softness outside similar to nice bokeh | Cons: | Tilt function on APS-C | | Reviewing the Lensbaby is difficult because it is primarily a creative lens. But here goes, in a rather free form approach. The Lensbaby is a solid and appears to be a well made lens. It survived a drop that damaged my Pentax-A 135/2.8. The Sweet 35 optic installation is easy, once you figure it out the first time. The tilt function does not work as well on an aps-c camera as it probably does on a full frame.I used it for the November 2016 Single in Challenge. Shooting with it regularly caused me to use it in situations I had not originally intended and I was very pleased with the results.
For Still Life's, portraits, flowers, and book fairies it is a great lens. It does quite well with landscapes where there is a central focus.
It is not the sharpest lens in my bag. But it is quite sharp in the center and the softness of the edge removes distractions in the photos well.
I've produced some pictures with it that I will print and frame, so it is definitely sharp enough for the subjects I have shot with it. It is manual focus so it does require more attention than an auto focus lens would.
