Manufactured at the KMZ plant from 1991 (production end-date not known), the MC Zenitar-M 1.9/50 is a normal, semi-fast prime lens with multi-coated elements in M42 mount, designed for the 35mm film format. The aperture is set via the aperture ring, and stopped down by the aperture pin. There is no A/M switch, so modification is necessary for use with adapted mounts. The aperture is circular at f/1.9 and forms a slightly-rounded hexagon as the lens is stopped down, becoming increasingly more hexagonal at smaller apertures. The barrel extends and retracts as the focal distance is increased and decreased respectively.

An otherwise-identical Zenitar-K variant with K-mount was also produced.
