Now about 40 years old, the mechanics still operate satisfactorily. The bayonet is black anodised aluminium. This may prove a small problem, as it does not conduct and may make the camera think no lens is attached. The aperture ring does not have half stop settings. The iris is 8 petal, and still work ok.
Optically the front lens multicoating has a beautiful gold sheen, no signs of the lens combinations breaking up, due to the cement failure. The performance seems on a par with a Pentax A 1.7. |
