I have a very good copy of this lens.
It is a little bit soft in wide open at 300mm however, in f8 or above - good, in f11 or above - excellent.
You will get very good portrait in wide open at 135mm.
Between 28mm-135mm you will get very good result.
Autofocus is a little bit slower.
I am very happy with this lens over all.
