Promaster LD 70-300mm F4-5.6
My lens is a little different than the one pictured; mine says "Tele-macro 1:2". I have a Pentax FA 80-320 f/4.5-5.6. The Promaster 70-300 is as sharp or better. The Promaster does a bit of AF seeking upon occasion but nowhere nearly as bad as the Pentax. I haven't shot any macro stuff but have really enjoyed the close focus ability of this lens. If you want sharp out of a budget zoom, I can recommend this one. I got mine for under $40 (including shipping) on eBay and won't be looking for an upgrade unless I win the lottery. For what it's worth: This lens takes a 62mm filter. The exif on flickr identifies this lens as "Tamron AF70-300mm F4-5.6 LD Macro". My experience with this lens is on the K-x. I have some sample pics here.
