Latest Review Posted | Voigtlander Nokton 58mm F1.4 This is one of the 50mm prime that has a charming characteristic. Beyond f2, the image is sharp as hell. Between f1.4 - 2, the image does have that overall dreamy feel while pixel peeping reveals sharp details if image plane is in focus.
The lens has a good construction build and feels right in the hands. It can do pretty good close focus with a good throw of things in the background. The background bokeh are equally as bad as Pentax limited lenses but this lens has less harsh edges and appear more swirly than most pentax 50mm
It takes on highlights well but fringes pretty horrificly with strong contrast. Still, this is a lens to use as a walk around. At least, it does not fringe that badly comparing to reknown pentax lens line-up.
