Latest Review Posted Adaptall lens hoods (all models)
Added Caution: My lens no longer focuses beyond 7 ft and is stuck at 24mm. As the hood restricted motion at longer FLs and longer distances, maybe mounting/using this hood was responsible for mechanical damage. So use caution. And I changed recommended use to NO.

The makedo Tamron C2FH (mine say 1C2FH) hood on the Tamron (Adaptall 2 model 13A) SP 24-48mm lens is convenient b/c the original proper hood is (very!) hard to find. Contrary to the table where it says it sort of locks, my copy locks fine-- actually it feels quite positive. Update, unmounting and remounting hood it no longer latches in place--likely some removal of soft plastic in doing this--so need to take care and verify orientation, and minimize the times you put it on/take it off. But:

(I) it vignettes at 24~27mm FL.
I modified the hood by drilling holes, cutting notches, and filling notches, where it vignettes. Closeup showing one notch is attached. This fixed the problem!

(II) it prevents setting infinity (or near infinity) at 35mm < FL< 43mm.
In fact (in this 35-43mm range) moving from 24mm up, or 48mm down, one needs to set the distance to a close value, to pass thru it. In as much as one can use 24~34mm and ~43-48mm (at all distances including infinity) this restriction may not be too onerous. There is no way that I see to overcome this restriction, other than removing the hood.

I changed my ratings after the modifications to the hood. Unmodified the ratings should be lower (e.g., a 5)...
