Latest Review Posted | Panagor Macro PMC 55mm F2.8 got this gem in practically brand new condition, the first thing i can say is that images are sharp, sharper than most of pentax 50mm lenses at f2.8 even wide open. it does as well as modern digitally optimized lenses even though it is a film lens.
the lens recess allows it to go without a filter, which would probably degrade the quality anyway, had never need to clean it as no dust whatsoever goes onto it (almost makes it seem like it has dust repelling coating)
while image quality is totally outstanding, the only bad thing is that its only f16, which i think may not appeal to all macro lovers. personally i shoot arnd f10 (this lens optimizes at f8, but degradation isn't obvious, save for a change in contrast which you can amend later), and tt barrel turns way too much, prefer it to be less. but otherwise, an outstanding lens i regret selling. |
