Latest Review Posted | MIR 10A / 10M 28mm F3.5 This is a pretty decent 28mm lens in the world of M42 glass.
If you familiar with Russian M42 glass then this will be in line with expectations. Heavy, solid, preset aperture, streaky & swirly bokeh, pretty soft in the edges, and prone to misbehave in backlight (in a way that is usually pretty nice if you like the creative effect of it). The most unusual feature is the shape of the diaphragm, when stopped down it creates quite crazy ninja star specular highlights - which I don't particularly like actually.
My copy render colours quite coolly, is decently sharp right from ƒ3.5 in the centre, and is generally a pretty solid performer. |
