The Mitakon Speedmaster 85mm F1.2 is an ultra-fast portrait lens. A maximum aperture of f/1.2 makes it convenient for shooting without flash in low light conditions and also allows for a very shallow depth of field. The lens covers the 24x36mm full frame format. The circular aperture helps create a smooth bokeh which is often desired for portraits.

The lens incorporates 9 elements in 6 groups with 2 pieces of Extra-low Dispersion elements and 4 pieces of High Refractive Index elements. The aperture ring is click-less and thus well-suited to video applications. The lens barrel is built of metal.

Lens Review Date: September 6, 2018 I can recommend this lens: Yes | Price: $727.00 | Rating: 10

Pros: Sharp wide open.
Cons: A little on the heavy side.
Sharpness: 10    Aberrations: 10    Bokeh: 10    Handling: 10    Value: 10    Camera Used: Pentax K1

I first used the lens as a Sony FE mount version and sold away to get the K1 in early 2016. Just bought it again in August 2018.

The lens although a little heavy, is easy to handle and very quiet. It is really very sharp wide open and I am really enjoying the bokeh that it produces.

Lens Review Date: December 11, 2016 I can recommend this lens: Yes | Price: $699.00 | Rating: 10

Pros: Great low light performance, pleasing bokeh and just amazing subject isolation.
Cons: Some may find it too heavy.
Sharpness: 10    Aberrations: 9    Bokeh: 10    Handling: 9    Value: 9    Camera Used: Pentax K-1

Great damping on the focus and (de-clicked) aperture rings.
Just enough focus throw and resistance to make focusing a breeze.
Sharp wide open.
Great low light performance, pleasing bokeh and amazing subject isolation.
Wonderful colors and rendering.
Weighs like depleted uranium.
Has nothing to do with taking a picture, but this lens makes for a gor-jus lens/camera combo film or digital.

Works well with Pentax ME Super film camera also:
