| | Pentacon 200mm f/4.0 (former Meyer-Optik Orestegor 4/200) old M42 lens for ~40$. This is the older version with 15 aperture blades, do not get the newer (inferior) 6 blade version.
There is some softness & ca at F4 but it becomes quite nice at F8.

| | i got on ebay for 15 blades version, with coating loss of rear elemen, but it's still okay for APSC digital to capture image
everybody know the meyer optik typical...fully bokehliceous!!
not fast lens actually especially in focusing and metering, I've had difficulty in communicating through the green button on my K5

| | Overall a pretty good buy if you are looking for a cheap but relatively good 200mm lens. MF is easy to use although abit annoying since the longer focal lengths are used more for things that are jitterish and like to move quickly, but good skill development
Fair bit of CA at f/4 but that quickly disappears stopped down, and the aperture blades make some nice bokeh around the f/8 mark. Best bit is this lens can be found pretty cheap!

| | Bonjour,
I just acquired a copy of this lens from a PF member in France and quite happy thus far ... only tested today indoors with (and without) K-5 flash due to dull, rainy weather outside. Just wanted to post something ASAP ...
Great sharpness for some "long distance" portrait shots of my daughters ... I "need" this distance because they hate a camera in their face plus this far distance allows for more candid shooting ... even with the on-board flash. Other subjects OK, but I need to learn what this lens can do, especially outside in real world conditions and brighter indoor environments.
Below are additional images of this Pentacon ... Allez et salut, John le Frog | | |
