I've owned two copies of this lens (slightly different versions), one recent, one older. My recent copy is significantly sharper. For £50-£100 it is an amazing value lens. Better sharpness, bokeh and af performance than the two da 55-300 I previously owned. Most photo samples cropped a bit: https://farm1.staticflickr.com/880/26783587597_fff3f3d0f7_b.jpgMandarin Duck by Tiago Cardoso, on Flickr https://farm1.staticflickr.com/856/40761732615_6b177eaa7f_b.jpgMouse by Tiago Cardoso, on Flickr https://farm1.staticflickr.com/847/43598664931_a4aca10b92_b.jpgLagartixa-da-Madeira (Lacerta dugesii) by Tiago Cardoso, on Flickr

On a full frame camera it's a no-brainer. I'm surprised people don't talk more about this lens.

The best image quality from any lens I have ever used. Main drawback: (On my camera) Only Live view AF gives me (very) reliable results at wide apertures.
