This is a unique lens design on the market, there aren't any other similar lens that provide a similar angle of view (except the Sigma 12-24mm f4.5-5.6 and Voigtlaender 12 mm f5,6 UltraWide Heliar that however are for FF).
It shows a great sharpness all around the frame, whit rich colors and beautiful contrast.
The maximum sharpness is achieved at largest apertures, that it's great.
The only problem for me is the fixed lens hood.
====> VERY INTERESTING: this lens may cover the entire full frame by removing the hood!!! these are not assumptions because if I put something between hood and lens, I can clearly see it.
I heard that someone removed the hood and the lens works great with old film camera, providing an incredible wide angle!!

I have the K-mount version that is more convenient and confortable to use with a regular film or digital Pentax K camera, in my opinion.
This is a great lens for me. At all apertures shows less contrast and less sharpness then any other prime lenses that I tried, but in real life isn't an issue.
I used this big lens both with film (Pentax Super Program) and digital (Pentax K5) cameras and does always great performances.
Surely it's heavy and big like a monster, but is sturdy like a tank.
It's very prone to flare, so use huge lens hood!!

This is one of my favourite lenses.
It shows great contrasted colors and excellent bokeh.
it has fantastic center resolution and very sturdy, short and compact body for these specs.
there aren't other normal fast lenses with AF for APS-C Pentax sensors except the pricey Pentax FA 31mm.
negatives? only aberrations... but in real life is not a big problem ;)
