With the K-1 out there, price of FF wide angle lenses are getting sky high. The best options so far for the K-1 are the Pentax FA 20-35mm and the pricey 15-30mm. But there are other alternatives, better than the Sigmas and Tamrons 17-35mm, the Tokina 20-35mm. It's small, built like a tank and...sharp! It's sharp already wide open, only the angles are lagging behind. Close the diafragm to F8 to get fantastic results. Only problem I see is the CA's, those are big. Use a lens hood and stop down to get better results. Colors are splendid, specially greens and blues. If you find one do not hesitate, the Pentax 20-35mm is a bit better but will cost you double. :hmm:

Yes, it's a 10. This lens is absolutely amazing. Sharp enough from F4, at 5.6 is razor sharp. AF is very fast and silent (is not as silent as an HSM model but is not really noisy) There's a minimal lose of quality with a TC 1.4 giving a 420mm focal length and a crealy bokeh. On the counter parts, it's heavy and uses 82mm filters, otherwise it's optical design beats the Sigma 120-400mm hands down. Used with a tripod or monopod it gives really sharp and contrasted images. This is one of the best macro lenses I've ever tried. Very sharp with a very pleasant bokeh. Color rendition and contrast is excellent with creamy backgrounds. The focal length is perfect for dragonflys and butterflies. This lens is really a must have. I bought this lens while waiting to buy the Tamron 90mm macro. What I didn't know is that I was going to fall in love with this lens. A serious performer, shots where above my expectations, fantastic colors, incredibly sharp, focus ring smooth....and on top, small and light so you can carry an excellent macro always with you. I don't know why I sold it (well yes, I needed the money to buy the Tammy), but if I can, I'll get another copy of this cheap but amazing macro lens.
