Description:
This 100mm macro lens focuses down to 1:1 magnification. It is a rebadged version of the smc Pentax-D FA 100mm F2.8 Macro lens. It covers the 24x36mm format (aka full-frame), not just the APS-C format.

It was marketed by Samsung for their K-mount line of DLS cameras. It was also marketed by Samsung under the Schneider-Kreuznach brand. We have actually only seen images of the latter branding as shown in the image above.

Pros: Identical to the Pentax version but cheaper on used market
Cons: Not focus limiter - No WR - It says Samsung on it

One of my 2 most used lenses...
This came into the used section of my local camera store at £100 less than the Pentax version comes in used... (I have since seen 2 more at similar prices)

It is mentally sharp and images look simply stunning (both macro and as a portrait lens)

Unless I manage to afford a WR version of this lens I'll be keeping it...

Only real gripes are:
No focus limiter. The throw is huge - can take a while to lock on but it is acurate when it gets there so 'apples and oranges'
And
No WR - nuff said init.

Apart from that, just the fact that it says 'Samsung' instead of 'Pentax' seems people take Samsung camera gear less seriously than Pentax as I've encountered a s******... Although I s******ed right back - He was using a Canon kit-lens!

It seems to come to the used market at less than the Pentax version (at least here in the UK) so you chould be looking out for one in your hunt for a 100mil macro lens.
