| | as teacher of digital photography I've had the opportunity to test a lot of lenses.
A big zoom doesn't allow a perfect lens performance over the full range.
++ But between 70 and 135 mm this lens is very sharp, stopped down to f 8-11 and really usefull for macro shootings with extension tube of 36mm f.e with f 11-16.
++ very well corrected CAs in this middle zoom range
++ color rendition is neutral and comparable to Cosina, Soligor and Vivitar lenses with a similar zoom range.
++ contrast is high, stopped a few down
O at 200 mm purple fringing/CA's visible, at 28mm in the corners, too (but even expensive modern high tech ED lenses with this big zoom range have the same problem).
45 points : 5 = 9 points in averidge
recommendation yes, but main using between 75 and 135 mm with best results, for portraits with f 5.6-8 at 28 mm and 200m with bokeh in the edges.

Pros: | Good spec and mechanics; PKA, macro | Cons: | mediocre IQ particularly wide angle | Sharpness: 5
Aberrations: 7
Bokeh: 7
Handling: 7
Value: 7
| | Unimpressed with this lens. I thought the IQ at 200mm was acceptable(ish) particularly at middling f's, but at 28mm I can only describe the images as "mushy". So mushy that I was attempting to focus in magnified live view and laughing at the lack of a recognisable in focus position.
The lack of resolution rendered the macro mode completely worthless.
Oh well.
