Pros: Identical to Pentax 18-55mm DL
Cons: Nothing that's a deal killer
Sharpness: 9    Aberrations: 9    Bokeh: 7    Autofocus: 9    Handling: 10    Value: 10    New or Used: Yes    Camera Used: Samsung GX1L

I got this lens a few years ago with a Samsung GX1L camera body after I bricked my *ist-DL in a botched firmware upgrade. Except for the blue trim ring and the more traditional knurled pattern on the zoom and focus rings' rubber grips, it's absolutely identical in every respect to the 18-55mm Pentax DL lens that came with that camera. It's a very respectable and capable kit lens and I continue to enjoy its Pentax counterpart to this day. I gifted the Schneider lens, along with the camera to my then-girlfriend at the time. She was totally thrilled when I gave it to her and as far as I know, she still has it and loves it.

Pros: Good sharpness and contrast for a kit lens
Cons: Bokeh is a little harsh
Sharpness: 9    Aberrations: 8    Bokeh: 7    Autofocus: 9    Handling: 8    Value: 10    New or Used: Yes    Camera Used: K-5

I got this lens with a faulty Samsung GX1L so had to wait till I found a reasonably priced K-5 till I could use it. First impressions are favourable. Sharpness is fine at any point between 25 and 50mm. Between the camera and the lens itself, the aberrations are handled very well and it autofocuses quickly in most situations. Contrast is spot on too. When I load a picture into PS and use auto brightness/contrast, it rarely moves the slider more than a point or two. The included samples are actually the first shots I took with both the lens and the camera.

Pros: very sharp zoom lens, especially 24 to 354mm
Cons: 18mm some CA's and not so sharp in the corners
Sharpness: 9    Aberrations: 8    Bokeh: 10    Autofocus: 9    Handling: 9    Value: 9    New or Used: Yes    Camera Used: k-x,k200

very similar to pentax kit lens I. high contrast, nice colors, but 18mm not so sharp in the corners and sometimes asome visible CA's.

best results between 24 and 35 mm, stopped down a few, nearly as sharp as a single lens in middle focal area.excellent for this price

Pros: light, good center and corner sharpness, great contrast and handling of aberrations. Rubberized focus ring
Cons: Vignetting at 18mm (wide end)

I got this used on eBay I decided to shed some kudos and share few sample images without sharpening (applied corrections described).

Slight barrel distortion at 18mm (0.43%), Imperceptible pincushion distortion at 35mm (0.03%) and just Slight pincushioning at 55mm (0.11%). Light falloff in the corners was unobjectionable at the longer focal lengths (gone by f/5.6), but at 18mm I had to stop down to f/16 to eliminate it.
