Pros: | Cheap 300mm | Cons: | blue haze | | This lens is downright ok. Nothing special, nothing awful.
It's medium sharp throughout the range. It seems to add a dash of bluish haze to everything, which can be it's own character.
It's build quality is surprisingly sturdy, and it's one touch zoom / focus is nicely dampened, and quite easy to control, perhaps even dreamy.
It does have a tendency to zoom creep when tilted up or down.
It has auto aperture control, although on our modern bodies, it says it's F4.5 throughout the range, even though it's 5.6 at the long end.
I picked this up used at a pawnshop before I had anything this long, and I had a fun time with it, although I've got better glass now.
Mine had the Ricoh pin that I've removed for safety.
Overall? It's ok glass, stellar for what I paid for it really.
