| | Hello
Last review is from 2010 - when a FF K1 was far away..
I found it, tested it and found it great in center sharpness and handling.
The corner sharpness definitely need to step down - but this is not a surprise for an UWW lens with that speed.
This lens was built for Nikon by Tamron too (~1800$) and programs like LR provide the right profile to reduce distortion and vignetting (which needs some correction).
Negative points are the bag-cover and lens flare if you have front light.
This lens is one of the very few AF-UWW options beside the DFA15-30.
It seems to be well rated and I am happy that I got one!

Pros: | fast, full frame, solid build | Cons: | vulnerable front element, only takes gelatin filters, lens cap | | Very nice lens. Sharp and contrasty. Picture quality extremely good. Fast at f2.8. Provides an awesome field of view on cropped and full frame cameras. No distortion noticeable.
BUT it's heavy (metal) and has a very vulnerable front element, although this is protected with a fixed petal hood made from metal. It will only take gelatin filters (placed just behind the rear element) and is vulnerable to flare, as are all ultra wide angle lenses. Oh, and the lens "cap" is a dreadful fabric thingy with a drawstring to close it. Very fiddly.
All in all if you're after a 14mm lens, it's well worth considering, if you can get hold of one.
