| | I'm giving this lens a good rating to make up for some of the imho misplaced negative reviews out here.
It's a one of a kind lens. The switch between filters is super fast. It has a very precise focus throw, which works nicely on combination with the Pentax catch-in-focus.
Put your camera on black and white, switch the filters back and forth, and you have an old school photography experience.
You can nudge it inbetween filters to shoot filterless.
If you are pixelpeeper you will probably rate this lens as worst lens ever, but I can get pleasing portraits out of it on APS-C with catch-in focus, certainly good enough for mid-sized prints.
This is the best 24mm manual focus lens with internal filters that you can buy
I got mine for about 40 dollars which is absolutely value for money for this one of a kind experience.

| | This a strange lens, the idea is nice, integrate filters in a lens but the ergonomics are poor and optical quality too.
Filters prone to opacity with age.
Fun to use, but very poor results.
I got mine for free in a bulk of photo stuffs but happy not to pay for it.

| | Nice lens for its time, however after so many years construction failures (age) are showing.
The lens is metal, heavy and handles well; focusing is very smooth and f-stops click on every half-stop.
It came in a variety of mounts, so there is a double f-stop scale in this example.
The lens has built-in filters , and I believe they have gotten mis-aligned or they degrade over time so that 2 of the 4 do not allow infinity focus.
The evenness of illumination is very good, some softness in the corners, no visible vignetting and not much distorsion.
If you can get the Wide II (I think) version
ADDENDUM: After trying it in the digital KX, where it works like a 35mm I see some purple fringing.
However as a wide angle the DA18-55 set at 24 is sharper and renders color better.
