Pros: Sharp, Fast AF, Smooth zoom, light weight
Cons: plastic, long extension, rotating front element
Sharpness: 9    Aberrations: 7    Bokeh: 7    Handling: 8    Value: 10    Camera Used: K5IIs, K100D

A terrific find bundled with another lens I was actually wanting.

The Good:
  • Sharp, accurate and fast AF on my K5IIs, a bit slower on the K100D.
  • Smooth zoom throw.
  • Good included hood.
  • Very good color rendition.
  • Light and easy to carry around.
  • A bargain.
The Bad:
  • Limited range (100 is a LOT longer than 55 on the DA55-300)
  • Relatively slow (f5-6.3).
  • Not the best bokeh (but its a long zoom).
  • Plasticy feeling
Final Assessment - if you want a cheap long zoom that gives you accurate colors, solid AF, and doesn't cost much at all this is a good lens to have.
