Dedicated 2x converter for the 90mm SP macro F2.5, making the lens a 180mm F5 but with 1:1 abilities.
With the 90mm it is Sharp! and I mean sharp.
Just make sure that the converter is fully seated on the lens, otherwise you cannot control the aperture. (a mistake I have done)
Downsides, it is NOT a K mount 2x convertor. It is a converter for Tamron lenses and you add the mount adapter on to it.
On the whole. the perfect 2x for the Tamron macro.

As TC's go this is a very good unit. It's partial use was for the 90mm f2.5 macro to give 1:1 macros. It has a feature I really like. The f stop guide (seen in the picture) adjusts as you step the lens down. Now this isn't complicated math but at a glance you can see what correct f stop you are at.
Image quality is very good and one of the best TC's I've used. In combination with the 90mm f2.5 macro, the images are sharp and great IQ in both macro mode and telephoto mode.
Solid build and it's an Adaptall TC so it will mate to any Adaptall lens and then you add the camera mount you need. So it can be used across camera brands.

My impressions of the 01F are similar to the other reviewers, its a good TC, subject to the usual tc limitations. Results from using with several lenses (54B, 104A, 04B...) generally indicate an equal or better resolution of the subject than cropping and enlarging. However as others have remarked it is a bit of a faff swapping around both mounts and TC and in practice I use my "MC7" type macro TC (PKA) more.
I have an impression that its results when used for macro eg with the 35-80mm 01A are particularly good, example here.
One thing I have encountered with a couple of examples of these is a haze/deterioration on the surface of the element comprising the second group from the back end. This has proved difficult to remove/clean - in fact on one I tried to clean the glass scratched up, must be very soft. It has the appearance of a haze on the surface of the element. This post on mflenses describes the problem with pics. It is something to be aware of if you are shopping for an 01F.
Prompted by this, one possibility I have been exploring is using the afflicted 01F as an 18F (1:1 macro extension tube for 90mm 52B/52BB) substitute by removing the optical assembly. The 18F is 45mm extension as opposed to the approx 41mm body of the 01F - almost the same. The assembly can be unscrewed with varying degrees of difficulty depending on how tight the locking sleeve at the lens end has been stuck with thread locker. This seems very feasible, no vignetting, however initial results have suffered from internal reflections/flare. Looking to acquire some flat black paint, will keep you posted...
These are common, price indicated is approx typical evilbay (UK) price for a good example, no need to pay more.

The primary use I have for this is with the Tamron 52B 90mm macro to reach 1:1. It is very well built and it is hard to find a better built TC. I'll reiterate what Peter Zack said in his review regarding the f-stop guide. Note that the price is used and was LN- from a reputable used dealer.

I bought one of these new, which I used with a 46A, and bought another more recently that lives on my 52A. The price is the average of the two.
The 01F fits on all of the Adaptall lenses I have tried it on. With one exception, my experience is that the less Purple Fringing the base lens exhibits, the better the results with 01F. I have tried the 03A, the 103A, the 104A, the 46A and the 52A. The 46A exhibits the least purple fringing, and this is the one the 01F works best with. There seems to be no loss of sharpness; just a drop in contrast.
The exception is the 52A in macro mode. 1:1 macro without having to poke the target with the lens. At distances of several metres and more, my 52A exhibits more purple fringing than any of the other lens listed, but in macro mode the fringing isn't apparent at all.
I find mounting and unmounting this thing tricky. The 01F goes on the lens, and the Adaptall mount goes on the 01F. So I leave one on the 52A all the time, since I don't use the 52A for anything else.

This is a worthwhile 2x TC if you have "AD2's" and their "SP" kin, but it will not fit all of the aforementioned - see previous reviews plus the "adaptall-2.org" site.

I use my copy mostly with a 23A (SP) and a 103A as well. Works not quite as well with my 22A.

Great build quality, and produces very sharp results with my 90mm 2.8 (later) macro adaptall to produce a handy 2:1 combination!
I had less success with the 70-210mm 3.5-4 (52A) although my 19AH performed pretty well. Although these are older zooms, so you can't expect too much!
All in all a very good teleconverter for the adaptall series!
