Since I added the lens here is my preliminary review.

I found this lens floundering around at the Badwill, I mean Goodwill auction for $8. No one had bid on it and I felt sorry for the little lens.
My LBA got a hold of me and pulled the trigger. The first thing I noticed is the mount says P/R which directed to me to look for a Ricoh pin. There it was but it did not seemed to stick out at all. Being the careful type I removed the Ricoh pin.

Handling

This lens is extraordinarily light for a 70-200mm zoom. It is very close in weight to my 18-50mm kit lens and is only a third of an inch taller. it has one touch slide in and out zoom and turn focus. This is a manual focus lens and the focus ring has a good feel and focusing is rather easy. This lens has an A setting for camera aperture control.

Build

One word - Plastics

IQ

I took a couple of test shots but they were at night and I had to use the flash. I will shoot some additional tests in the daylight. So far the shots I have taken are
pleasing but I think my cat is becoming tired of being my test subject. It does have a macro mode that is easy to access by turning the zoom ring over to macro.
Seems like the minimum focus distance for macro is somewhere between 2-3 feet so it is limited in scope. The picture of the orange was taken with the macro mode.

The sample shots were all taken at F8.

Yes my wife still has the Christmas stuff out.....
