Pros: Very sharp, nice colours & bokeh, close focus
Cons: The Canon FD mount is a bit of a kludge
Sharpness: 9    Aberrations: 9    Bokeh: 8    Handling: 7    Value: 10    Camera Used: Sony Alpha 7RII

Excellent lens.
Quite sharp at f4.0, very sharp at 5.6, stunning at f11.
Nice bokeh and colours.
At f4.0 is not really fast, but outdoors in daylight is enough on most occasions. And, at f4.0, 150mm DOF is already very shallow for subjects 2-3 mt away (very tight portraits).
Close focus is fun.
Great build.
Aberrations very limited, but very occasionally a bit of purple halo all ower - bizarre (see last pic)

This lens has become my most-used (and possibly favourite) lens. Great value for money considering the low weight and ease of handling. I haven't touched my Tamron 70-200/2.8 in months simply because this one is so much more comfortable to use. The close focus capability is a godsend and makes the lens even more versatile.

A couple of sample photos:

Cons: short zoom range

I inherited this lens (along with the matching 2x teleconverter) from my grandfather. It is extremely sharp, colors render beautifully, and the close focus ability makes it quite versatile. I use it a lot for CIF duties, and put it on my extension tubes to focus even closer. This lens puts a smile on my face every time I use it.

Pros: Sharp, light, Close Focus (3 ft)
Cons: Short range
Sharpness: 10    Aberrations: 9    Bokeh: 10    Handling: 9    Value: 10    Camera Used: K50

Bought this lens on eBay for $19.00 shipped based on prior reviews. Wanted it for it's close focusing and it does not disappoint. Not a true Macro, but @ 200mm and a little less than 3 ft it's pretty neat for close ups of flowers, bugs, spiders, etc. Very sharp @ f5.6 and the bokeh is very nice. Very well built and a good looking lens..

Pros: Constant f4 small and light. good sharpness and colour. Metal chasis
Cons: Short range.

A decent all round zoom but has a somewhat short range where the typical zoom would be 50 or 70 to 200mm. But it's much smaller and lighter as a result. Constant f4 is also nice and at 200mm it's a 1:3 macro lens (really close focus). not a Series 1 but a good all round performer. M Series connections to camera, so all manual.

2 touch zoom. One ring for focus and the other for zoom. That's a big plus on a DSLR with a manual focus lens. Zoom in to get the focus and then back out to compose the shot. Bonus point for that feature.

CA's and PF's are well controlled for an old lens are not really an issue.

Solid metal body. Built like the old Takumar's. But it's not terribly heavy and easy to carry.

Has a very nice finish as well, sort of a glossy brushed black. That's my lens in the Photo and considering this is a 30+ year old lens, and the finish has held up to years of use.

A lens worth considering if you can find this at a reasonable price.
