Tokina-produced Vivitar (Ponder & Best) similar to Soligor T4 135mm lens of the same era.
This lens was designed prior to the later TX mount lenses, which reportedly included a redesign of the optics. Optical design: 4 elements in 3 groups. Built-in hood.
February/March 1969 issue of Camera 35 magazine: "Besides being just a few dollars less expensive and one half a stop slower than the 135mm f/2.8 T-4 lens, this 135mm f/3.5 is a little bit sharper. Just a bit. In fact, I think that with average picture taking situations, you probably would not be able to tell the difference between the results As test results indicate, performance picks up at f/11--f/16. This is not to say it doesn't perform well at other openings. Being somewhat lighter than the faster version, it may be a bit easier to tote around in your gadget bag. An excellent buy." ($84.50 list price in 1969)
