Description:
According to Camera Wiki, this lens was produced by Tokina for Ponder & Best / Vivitar in the mid-1960s. It's all metal, with a metal screw-on hood and a metal screw-on lens caps. There are two distinct designs - the one in pic 2; and the one in pics 1, 3, with the tripod mount and aperture rings much closer to the mount end, this version is pictured in the camera-wiki article . This design is actually more like an Itoh lens than tokina?

Also sold as an Aicoset, Marexar, Dollands (UK) and probably other marques.

Pros: Durable beastie, tripod mount, low CAs
Cons: Huge; weighty; bulky, etc.
Sharpness: 8    Aberrations: 10    Bokeh: 8    Handling: 7    Value: 10    Camera Used: K-3

For the price, this lens seems hard to beat at this length. Again, for the price. I understand that there are excellent 500mm lenses, and there are excellent $25.00 lenses, but the combination of the two on this makes it a great deal. Plus, as you can see, it takes lovely moon photos. The first below is slightly cropped only; the second is cropped further and edited in Lightroom.
